What is a pneumatic walker boot?
A pneumatic walking boot, commonly known as an air boot, is a medical device designed to support and protect the foot and ankle during the healing process. The leg boot features inflatable air chambers that can be adjusted to provide customised compression, promoting optimal recovery from injuries like fractures or sprains.
What are air boots used for?
Air boots, or ankle walking boots, are used to stabilise and protect the foot and ankle after injuries or surgeries. These leg boots offer support to the lower leg, reduce weight-bearing pressure, and promote proper healing. They are commonly prescribed for conditions such as fractures, ligament injuries, and post-operative recovery.
How to wash a boot cast?
Cleaning a boot cast, including air boots and leg boots, is typically done by wiping the surface with a damp cloth or sponge. Avoid submerging the ankle walking boot in water. For removable liners, follow the manufacturer's instructions for washing. Ensure the ankle walking boot is completely dry before putting it back on to prevent skin irritation.
WHAT IS A PNEUMATIC WALKING BOOT / SCIENTIFIC DESIGN
The Pneumatic Walker Boot provides maximum support and stability to the ankle and is light weight and durable. The air boot rocker sole design promotes natural walking and its unique shock absorbing sole reduces impact of heel strike during ambulation. The Front panel with inflated air cell of the leg boot provides complete protection and support. It helps in pressure offloading and enhances blood flow. The Double air valve offers pneumatic compression to promote callus formation over fracture site and reduce swelling, and the inflation can be customized to desired compression level with the air valve. The detachable soft cushion of the ankle walking boot provides a comfortable perfect fit.
